Stump removal on your southern Idaho property may be necessary for many reasons, ranging from simply making your property look better to removing potential hazards. Whatever the reason, successful stump removal requires completing a basic four-step process:
- Clear rocks away from the area around the stump with a shovel or mattock.
- Use a chainsaw to cut away as much of the stump as possible. The more level with the ground, the better.
- Use a grinder to grind down the stump by first raising the grinder wheel a couple of inches above the stump and then lowering it three inches into the stump and moving it side to side with the lever.
- Move the wheel forward and repeat the process until the stump is at least four inches below the ground.
